ROBOTS IN OUR LIVES

Now a days, robots are part of our lives and become a reality of 21st century living. This machines help the people. Is possible that in approximately 20 or 30 years we have humanoids in our houses. The robots will do all the things that we see in the movies of science fiction. The people are afraid to the robots because they are a new thing. The conservative of the Museum of Science in London says that this reaction is natural and human. 

The technologies advance more fast. We can see that when we look a few years behind. There will come one day that the people will to have humanoids in their houses.

2,000 PIGEONS WITH LIGHTS

A lot of people think that the pigeons are not beautiful and many people have called them "rates with wings". The artist Duke Riley's tried to change the people's opinion about this animals. He trained doves with lights on their bodies. People wanted to watch this show: two thousand birds flying in a the sky. 
I like very much the idea that this man has had because normally the people don't like the doves and this is a more agreeable new way of seeing these animals. 

Vocabulary:

BISCUITS

Ingredients:

- 100 grams of flour

- 100g of sugar

- 4 spoonful with oil

- 1 egg

- 2 spoonful with milk

- A small amount of salt

- Add lemon zest

Production:

Preheat the oven to 190ºC.

Pour the ingredients in a bowl. Mix the ingredients until the mass being uniform.

After, add the lemon zest.

With a soup spoon put the dough in a greaseproof paper.

Next, put the greaseproof paper with the dough in the oven.

Wait between 10 or 15 minutes, or until golden at the edges.

This food is very easy, sweet and delicious.

HORSES CAN READ EMOTIONS

A new experiment shows that horses can read human emotions. In this experiment the scientist used photographs of human faces and they discovered that horses can tell the difference between angry and happy faces. 

The scientist put monitors on the horses and observed that heart rates of the horse rose when they saw an angry face.

Riders at a horse club in London said that there is a special relationship between humans and horses. 

I choose this news because I think that it is very emotional to know that there may be a special emotional connection between humans and animals.

SMALLEST MONKEYS IN THE WORLD

This news is about the smallest monkeys in the world. These animals weighs only 100 grams and when they born, they are smaller than a human thumb. 

The species is endangered because people are destroying the forests where this monkey lives and for illegal pet trade. A zoo in Sydney is trying to help the species to survive. 

I choose this news because I think that this is a very interesting information. In the world there are very species of animals that they are endangered and for this the people need to take care of the natura.

CHEESECAKE

INGREDIENTS

• A package of cheese types philadelphia

• 3 eggs

• 3 yoghurts

• 3 spoonful of flour

• 10-12 teaspoons of sugar
• Butter for the mould. 

(This ingredients are for four persons).

ELABORATION

The process for making this cake is very simple.

First of all, heat the oven to 200 degrees and go taking temperature.

In a bowl mix all the ingredients. Put butter in a mould that you will use to make the cake.

Put the whole mass to the mould and put this in the oven. Put the oven down to 170 and leave 20-25 minutes.

Next, with a toothpick, poke the cake to make sure that it is cook. Let the cake cool. Then, when it gets warm, put this in the refrigerator.

And finally, serve the cheesecake at room temperature.

NEW TORTOISE IS DISCOVERED 

A new species of giant tortoise is identified in the Galapagos Islands. The newly identified species is different genetically from the other giant tortoise species. Now there are 15 species of giant tortoises.The two Santa Cruz Island species are  different in the shapes of their shells. The new species scientific name honours a recently retired National Galapagos Park ranger named Fausto Llerena Sanchez. 

I choose this new because I think that this is a very interesting information. I think that in the world there are very news species of others animals to discover.

TOXIC WATER IN BRASIL

The water is very dirty. It is probably toxic, but the mining company says that the mud is not toxic, but biologists and experts say that it is. After two persons go into a iron mine, the water turned orange. The Brazilian President has fined the mining company more than 44,000 pounds. Eleven people died in the disaster earlier this month. The Brazilian government says that this event is an environmental catastrophe and this sediments has flowed for than 483 kilometres. I choose this new because I think that this event is very important and serious and people have to know. 

MY TOWN

Sant Miquel de Fluvià is a village in the region of Alt Empordà with about seven hundred residents. Its name comes from the river Fluvià, because this river crosses the town. 

Sant Miquel de Fluvià was created around a benedictine monastery founded by Abat Oliba and it depended of St. Miquel de Cuixà in the early 11 century. The name of this zone was Vallgarriga and it belonged to the county of Empúries.

The most important places of my town are:

-The monastery: The benedictine monastery of Sant Miquel de Fluvià was a abbey dependent originally of Sant Miquel de Cuixà in the 11 century. It has got three Romanesque buildings: the tower, the church and the abbey. The belfry tower and the church were fortified in the 14 century. You can visit inside its capitals and the image of the Mare de Déu. 

-The roman oven: It was discovered in 1974 and in the present is the only oven with this features visitable in Catalonia. 

-The river Fluvià: It is what gives the name to the town and is a very beautiful natural environment.

-The source: It is carved to the rock. In the 19 century it was protected with a porch of stone and benches along.
