DIFFERENCES ABOUT THE FILM AND THE BOOK OF ROMEO AND JULIET

These are the differences between the book and the film of Romeo and Juliet.

In the film Juliet wears a dress of an angel, Romeo wears a dress of a Knight, Mercuito wears a dress of a woman and Paris wears a dress of an astronaut. 

In the book Verona is an old city but in the film Verona is a modern city. The story of the book happened in the city of Verona in 1595 (16th century) and the story of the film happened in Verona beach in actuallity (21st century). 

In the film there are some important metaphors and images like the water, that represents the purity. The innocence, that represents the unity of the two bodies who are in love. The fire, that represents the evil and the death. The day is the time to be separed, to stay alone and dreaming with the night. The night represents when the two lovers finally meet again with the dark of the sky. And the moon that represents the fake love, because the moon is constantly change, but the love of Romeo and Juliet is for ever. 

In the film, the main characters are Romeo, Juliet, Fray Laurence and the parents of Romeo and Juliet. In the book the narrator is a person that is watching the story but in the film the narrator is a reporter who is telling news. We can see this reporter on TV in the beginning and in the end of the film.  

In the book the characters fight with swords but in the film they fight with guns. The characters don't use horses like in the book, in the film they use cars.

In the scene of the balcony, in the book, Romeo and Juliet are talking in a balcony but in the film they are talking in a swimming pool. 
In the book, when Juliet is death in the tomb, Romeo killed Paris. In the film Paris didn't be in the tomb and Romeo didn't kill he. 

MY EXPERIENCE IN ITALY

The week after Easter the students of 4th of ESO went to Italy. This was my first travel and I was very nervous. 

The first day, 29th of march.

I woke up at four o'clock because I couldn't sleep. I revised my suitcase and I went to Castelló d'Empúries. We took the bus to went to Barcelona. The teachers gave us a booklet with information about the most interesting places. There was a Catalan-Italian dictionary with phonetic translation. In the bus, everyone was very nervous. 

We arrived at Barcelona Airport and, after waiting a long time, we have alerted that our plane took delay.

Finally we get on the plane. It was very small. I had never gone in plane. That was a fascinating experience.  

We took the bus and we went to Pisa. We watched its famous tower. 

Then, we took the bus and we went to Lucca, a fantastic medieval city.

We went to the hotel. My bedroom was the last, the 335, on the 3rd floor. In its inside there was a double bed and a bunk bed. The rooms where not good because the beds were in a bad condition. 

We had dinner at the Hotel. The pasta was raw, but no... it was "al dente." 

At the night we have taken a ride by Montecatini and finally we returned to the hotel. 

The second day, 30th of march.

We woke up at 7 am and we had come down to breakfast. 

We took the bus to went to Florence. It was beautiful, especially the "Ponte Vecchio".

We went to the Duomo, it was the first thing that we did. Then, we did tail during more than two hours, but it was worth it. 

We went into Duomo. Almost 500 steps to reach the top and to lose 500 more, but it was worth it. From above of the Duomo was possible to see all Florence. It was beautiful. 

There is a great contrast between the interior and exterior of the cathedral. Outside is decorated with three marbles from three different locations in Italy, but the interior is very simple.

At lunch time we bought a pizza and we had eaten it in the street. 

When we finished, we went in "Piazza di la Signoria". In this square the teachers had repared a gimncana for the students. We had some photos of a place and we had to find and get a photo in this monument.

We found five of the seven sites. We went to dinner at a self-service. 

We took the bus and we went to the hotel. 

The thirst day, 31st of march.

We woke up at seven o'clock, in the morning. 

We took the bus to went to Siena. It was beautiful. We visited the cathedral. Unlike the cathedral that we saw in the previous day, the interior of this one was more decorated.

There was a library with collections of Gregorian chants.

We had free time for lunch and at three o'clock we took the bus to go to Rome. 

We arrived at the hotel at 19:21. It was better than the other hotel and the beds were in perfect condition. In general everything was good.  

We had dinner at a restaurant near the hotel. Then we took a tour of Rome.

The fourst day, 1st of april.

We woke up at 7:30. We made several turns to go to breakfast. 

Then, we went to Vatican City. To got there we went to the metro station and we took the subway.

When we arrived, we walked a lot to reach the Vatican. 

It was beautiful and very large. A guide made us some explanations about the paintings could be found in the Sistine Chapel. These are classified: in the left there are the paintings of the old testament and the paintings of the new testament there are in the right.

We were inside and we saw everything that the guide had been told.

       

Then we went to the "Piazza Navona" and we had free time to lunch. 

Then we made a tour around there.

We found the teachers at six o'clock and made a tour of Rome. We saw the pantheon.

We had dinner at a restaurant. 

We returned to the hotel at ten o'colock, and at eleven o'clock, some students went to ate an ice-cream.  

Finally we returned at the hotel.

The fivest day, 2nd of april.

We woke up at seven o'clock in the morning and made turns to go to breakfast.  

We did the suitcase. 
We went to the Coliseum and saw its interior. It is enormous and impressive. During a moment I thought that I was in the middle of a battle between gladiators.

          

We went to Piazza Navona and we had free time for lunch and bought some food for the boat because in the ship the food was very expensive. 

There was bad sea and the ship came an hour late.

We embarked at twelve o'clock and began to move about one o'clock. The ship was enormous, but the cabins were tiny. Nonetheless I slept very well thanks to the balancing of the ship. The moment when the ship left Chivitavechia was magic and spectacular. It was the night and the city was illuminated.

We had many problems to enter the cabins because the sensor of the door didn't worked because the batteries were missing.

The last day, 3th of april. 

We woke up later, at eleven o'clock.
I had breakfast with a little group. We had breakfast on the deck with fresh air touched my face. It was a great experience. 

Later, around one o'clock, we went to play cards in the best room of the ship. 

Finally we landed and we took the bus and we come to Castelló d'Empúries.
